Ramchet Mochi, who works as a cobbler in Sultanpur, is planning to start his brand called ‘Ramchet Mochi’ after meeting a leather businessman through Congress leader Rahul Gandhi.
The Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha and Congress Party MP from Rae Bareli parliamentary constituency, Gandhi called Ramchet Mochi (60) to Mumbai and made him meet him with a leather businessman Sudhir Kumar.
Gandhi gifted him a machine last year. After this, in February this year, the Congress leader called Ramchet to his mother’s residence 10, Janpath, where Ramchet presented his hand -made slippers party president Sonia Gandhi and Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra.
Now Rahul Gandhi called Ramchet to Mumbai by air and introduced the leather businessman Sudhir Kumar. The Congress MP also shared pictures taken with Ramchet on “X”.
Ramchet reached Mumbai for the first time after traveling to air where he got a chance to see Sudhir Kumar’s leather business.
Ramchet said in a conversation with “PTI-language”, “Sudhir Kumar’s business extends abroad and new design bags and sandals are made here. Some products are of wood and some are rubber. “
He told that he showed the skill of his workmanship there and he made a purse through the machine. According to him, Sudhir Kumar appreciated his work and inspired him to move forward.
Ramchet said that he is now teaching this business to his son and he is also planning to establish his brand ‘Ramchet Mochi’.
He said that he is respected for Rahul Gandhi as he helped him by sitting at his small shop.
Ramchet said that he has expanded his business and he has put a machine on rent and installed a machine where he makes shoes and he works with two-three artisans.
He told that his son also learns work for two-three hours every day.
