Texas, Sep 8 (IANS) Congress leader Rahul Gandhi is on a US tour. On this three-day visit, Rahul Gandhi reached Dallas, Texas on Sunday, where he was warmly welcomed by the Indian diaspora and members of the Indian Overseas Congress (IOC).
Rahul Gandhi shared some pictures from his social media account. He wrote, ‘I am really happy with the welcome I received from Indian immigrants and members of the Indian Overseas Congress in Dallas, Texas.’
Rahul further wrote in the post, ‘I am looking forward to engaging in meaningful discussions and practical interactions during this visit, which will further strengthen the ties between the two countries’.
Let us tell you that this is Rahul Gandhi’s first visit to America after the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
Rahul Gandhi will attend several important meetings to be held in Washington DC on September 9-10.
Earlier, on Rahul Gandhi’s visit, IOC chief Sam Pitroda said that the NRIs, business leaders, students, political leaders here are eager to talk to Rahul Gandhi. We hope for a successful visit and are looking forward to welcoming Rahul Gandhi to America.
He further said, “Many programmes have been planned with people from different walks of life, especially those who belong to the Congress-ruled state. People from tech cities like Bangalore, Hyderabad, Mumbai and Pune are particularly interested. We are also very excited about interacting with the business and technological community.”
It is seen that Rahul Gandhi, after the 2024 Lok Sabha results, is gaining the support of the people by raising many issues of public interest.
Rahul won the Lok Sabha elections 2024 from Rae Bareli and Wayanad, however, he left the Wayanad Lok Sabha seat, and chose to become an MP from Rae Bareli seat. He has fielded his sister Priyanka Gandhi from the Wayanad seat.
He was appointed Leader of the Opposition (LoP) in the Lok Sabha in June this year after getting approval from the Congress Working Committee (CWC).
