Former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh breathed his last at Delhi AIIMS on Thursday night. There is a wave of mourning in the political world after his demise. Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi, Congress National President Mallikarjun Kharge and party’s National General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi paid emotional tribute to him.
Former Congress president and leader of opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi has expressed deep grief over the demise of former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, saying that he has lost one of his mentors. Mr. Gandhi said, “Dr. Manmohan Singh ji led India with great intelligence and honesty. His humility and deep understanding of economics inspired the entire nation.” He said, “My heartfelt condolences to Mrs. Kaur and her family. I have lost a guide. Millions of us who were his fans will remember him with immense pride.”
Mallikarjun Kharge wrote on social media platform ‘X’, “Undoubtedly, history will judge you politely, Dr. Manmohan Singh Ji! In the demise of the former Prime Minister, India has lost a visionary politician, a leader of impeccable integrity and an economist of unparalleled stature. of economic liberalization and rights-based welfare paradigm.
His policy profoundly changed the lives of millions of Indians, virtually creating a middle class in India and lifting millions out of poverty. “I mourn the loss of a lifelong senior colleague, a gentle intellectual and a humble personality, who embodied the aspirations of India, who rose with unwavering dedication.
I am proud to be a part of his cabinet as Labor Minister, Railway Minister and Social Welfare Minister. He was a man of actions rather than words. His immense contribution in nation building will always be recorded in the pages of Indian history. “At this time of grief, I express my deep and heartfelt condolences to his family, friends and countless fans. May they get the strength to overcome this huge loss. His enduring legacy of pursuing India’s policies of development, welfare and inclusivity will always be cherished. may his soul rest in peace.
