Patna, September 11 (IANS). Former Union Minister and Rashtriya Lok Morcha chief Upendra Kushwaha has taken a dig at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s statement on ending reservation. He has said that Rahul Gandhi’s statement exposes the real character and mentality of the Congress and the Grand Alliance.
Upendra Kushwaha wrote on the social media platform X on Wednesday that the statement given by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on foreign soil regarding ending reservation exposes the real character and mentality of the Congress party and the grand alliance.
Reservation is not a means of employment, but a special constitutional opportunity to connect a large part of the country’s population (the exploited, the oppressed, the deprived, the Dalits, the tribals, the backward and women) to the mainstream of power and society so that they can get equality in the long run. We all have a moral and constitutional responsibility to establish such a situation. The talk of ending reservation by the leader of the Congress party is also an insult to our constitution.
He further wrote that we are waiting to see when RJD supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav, who creates a ruckus over any such statement, will take on Congress…! On one hand, our Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s statement “No power in the world can end reservation” and on the other hand, the statement of the Grand Alliance “We will end reservation”…the public is watching and listening to everything.
Let us tell you that on Tuesday, during a conversation with students and teachers of Georgetown University in Washington DC, a student asked Rahul Gandhi if there are better ways to strengthen institutions at the grassroots level besides caste-based reservation. Then Rahul Gandhi gave a statement about reservation in response to this question.
