Thiruvananthapuram, November 2 (IANS). Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi will address a public meeting in Kerala’s Wayanad on Sunday along with his sister and Congress candidate Priyanka Gandhi Vadra.

Former Wayanad MP Rahul Gandhi will next address a public meeting at Ericode in Malappuram district, while Priyanka Gandhi will address three other street meetings in Wayanad, where voting for the Lok Sabha by-election is scheduled on November 13.
After two rounds of campaigning in Wayanad for her first election, Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi will return to the hill district of Kerala on Sunday.
When he filed his nomination papers on October 23, Rahul Gandhi was present with him, although he was not with him during the second round of campaigning.
Priyanka Gandhi will also address five meetings on Monday. Information about his further programs has not been given yet.
Priyanka Gandhi is pitted against ruling CPI(M)-led LDF’s CPI(M) candidate Satyan Mokeri and BJP’s young Kozhikode corporation councilor Navya Haridas, a former software engineer, for the Wayanad seat.
Overall, there are 16 candidates in Wayanad.
Along with Wayanad, Rahul Gandhi also won the Rae Bareli seat of Uttar Pradesh in the Lok Sabha elections held this year. He had resigned from Wayanad MP, deciding to remain MP from Rae Bareli.
Rahul Gandhi had won the Wayanad seat in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections by a margin of 4.60 lakh votes, but this reduced to 3.64 lakh in 2024.
Of the seven assembly seats under Wayanad Lok Sabha seat, four are with the Congress-led UDF, two with the CPI(M) and one with Left-backed independent MLA P.V. The victory was won by Anwar, who has now broken away from the ruling Left Front and formed his own party.
