Railways is preparing shelter for 25 thousand devotees in Maha Kumbh

Prayagraj, October 27 (IANS). Preparations are going on war footing in Prayagraj for Mahakumbh 2025, the biggest event of Sanatan Aastha. As per the intention of CM Yogi, efforts are in full swing to make Mahakumbh divine, grand and grand.

The fair authority is estimating the arrival of 40 crore devotees in this Mahakumbh. In such a situation, a large number of devotees can reach Prayagraj through trains.

This time around 10 crore people are expected to reach Mahakumbh via train. Prayagraj Division of Railway NCR has prepared a roadmap regarding crowd management at stations. Construction of shelters to accommodate about 25,000 passengers at all the railway stations of Prayagraj is in the final stages.

During Mahakumbh, preparations are going on for the movement of devotees at 9 railway stations in Prayagraj City. Mahakumbh Railway Nodal Division Prayagraj Division has prepared a roadmap regarding crowd management.

Railway Prayagraj Division’s PRO Amit Singh said that during Mahakumbh, a plan has been made to send 50 thousand passengers per hour towards their destination stations. Along with this, 10 shelters are also being prepared to accommodate about 25,000 devotees. Out of which 4 shelters are being built at Prayagraj Junction, 3 at Naini Junction, 2 at Chhivki station and 1 at Subedarganj station. These shelters were built during the 2019 Kumbh with temporary ticket booths and toilet facilities. The work of reconstructing them and making them operational in Mahakumbh 2025 is going on. A new shelter is also being built at Chhivaki station.

PRO Amit Singh said that for crowd management, passengers will be accommodated in different colored shelters according to different destination stations. Along with the announcement of trains going towards their stations in these shelter places, the railway administration will also try to reach them to the right train. For this, color coding of the shelter places has been done according to the direction of the going trains. Passengers going to Lucknow and Banaras will be accommodated in red-coloured shelters, those to Kanpur in green, while those going towards Satna, Manikpur, Jhansi will be accommodated in yellow-coloured shelters. The color coding of the shelters is slightly different at different stations, information about which will be displayed at the stations. Along with this, separate temporary shelters are also being built for reserved category passengers.
