MNS chief Raj Thackeray met his cousin and Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray at a wedding ceremony in Mumbai, making speculation that he may be willing to resolve his political differences before the local body elections in Maharashtra.
These politically isolated, these cousins were seen together at the wedding of the son of government official Mahendra Kalyar in Andheri area here on Sunday evening.
Amid rumors of ruling Mahayuti and opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) camps, Raj Thackeray of Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) met former Chief Minister of the state and his wife Rashmi Thackeray at the event.
Political observers say that there is a possibility that MNS and Shiv Sena (UBT) will want to resolve their political differences in view of the municipal elections in the state, including cash -rich Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation. The program of municipal elections has not been announced yet.
This was the third public meeting between the cousins in the last two months, which has intensified the improvement in relations between the two parties. Raj Thackeray left the Shiv Sena (undivided) in 2005 and formed his own party the following year.
Last year, the Shiv Sena (UBT) won 20 seats in the election for the 288 -member Maharashtra Legislative Assembly, while MNS did not get a single seat.
