Ranchi, 13 February (IANS). President Draupadi Murmu is coming on a two -day visit to Ranchi on Friday. She will attend the Platinum Jubilee ceremony of Birla Institute of Technology (BIT) in Mesra on 15 February as the chief guest.
The institute was established in 1955. This year it is completing 70 years of its establishment. On this occasion, a series of special programs starts from 15 February, which will continue till July 15.
Apart from the President, many big personalities of this institute will attend the platinum jubilee celebrations besides the President, besides the veterans of the education sector. Extensive preparations have been made for the program.
Security arrangements have been made for the President’s two-day visit. The President will go to Raj Bhavan directly at Birsa Munda Airport in Ranchi by special aircraft on Friday.
After participating in some formal programs in Raj Bhavan, she will take rest here. Jharkhand Chief Secretary Alka Tiwari has reviewed the preparations by meeting with top officials of the police-administration regarding the President’s program. Several changes have been made in traffic on 14 and 15 February in Ranchi.
Official sources said that the President’s security will be in three layers, under which 10 IPS have been deployed. 1,000 policemen will be deployed in their movement route. Traffic will be stopped an hour in advance on the roads that the President passes through.
Official information about the change in traffic system states that the entry of big vehicles in the city will be prohibited from 8 am to 10 pm on February 14. Entry of small cargo vehicles in the city has also been prohibited from 3 pm to 7 pm.
Vehicles going towards Kanke, Ratu, Daladali and Kathitand will be able to reach their destination via Lalpur Road and Kantatoli, the main roads of the city. On February 15, from 8 am to 10 pm, there will be a ban on the entry of all types of big vehicles in the city.
On this day, large vehicles coming from Palamu, Garhwa, Latehar and Gumla route will be able to go to the destination via Ring Road. Traffic police have issued special instructions for all the passengers who hold the flight from Ranchi Airport. According to the instructions, those who have to reach the airport to catch the flight on February 14 and whose time is between 4 to 5:30 pm, try to reach the airport by 3:30 pm.
