The Indian Army held a joint press conference on Monday regarding the ‘Operation Sindoor’ run by Pakistan in response to the recent airstrikes conducted by Pakistan. During this time, the entire picture of the reply given to Pakistan was placed in front of the country. The press briefing not only shown a clip of the debris of the Pakistani Mirage fighter aircraft, but the remains of the PL-15 Air-to-air missile were also shown to the media.
Air Marshal AK Bharti clearly stated during the press conference that India’s fight is against terrorism and the structure supporting it and not from the Pakistani Army. But it is unfortunate that the Pakistan Army directly intervened and supported the terrorists, due to which the Indian Army had to retaliate. He said, “They themselves are responsible for the damage done to the Pakistani Army.”
The heads of the Indian Air Force said that India’s indigenous air defense system, especially ‘Akash System’, performed well in Operation Sindoor. Air Marshal Bharti said that many waves of drones and unmanned war aeries were completely thwarted by Indian air defense personnel and modern counter-UAS system.
He said, “We have complete diversity from low-level firing to long-range surface to air missile system, and all of them thwarted the Pakistani attacks while working together.” He also reported that drones and missiles of China and Turkish origin were used by Pakistan, which the Indian system abolished in aircraft itself.
Lieutenant General Rajiv Ghai (DGMO) while talking in detail on the strategic background of Operation Sindoor said that “the nature of terrorist attacks has changed over the years. Innocent pilgrims and tourists have been targeted.” He said that the terrorist attack in Pahalgam in April and the attack on Shivkhodi temple pilgrims in 2024 indicated that Pakistan was plotting a big conspiracy.
General Ghai said that Pakistan’s Air Force tried to target India’s airfield and logistic installation on 9-10 May, but their plan failed in front of India’s strong air defense grid. He said, “Our defense system is multi -layered – even if one level one level, the other stops it.”
At the end of the press conference, he also appreciated the BSF, whose alertness and understanding were piled on many drones of Pakistan on the border. He said, “Our airfields are completely operational and are fully prepared for next action. Every nefarious act of Pakistan will be given a befitting reply.”
Operation Sindoor has made it clear that India will not make any kind of lapse in its security and is fully capable and ready to give a befitting reply to every attack.
