Kolkata, Sep 10 (IANS) The CBI, which is probing the rape and murder of a junior doctor at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital that took place last month, has decided to question the videographer of the victim’s postmortem.
Sources familiar with the developments said that the manner in which the postmortem process was videographed did not include important aspects. This is why the investigating officers felt the need to question the videographer.
According to sources, by questioning the videographer, the investigating officer wants to clarify whether he had done the recording in a normal way or someone had given him any special instructions for this.
The investigating officers also believe that questioning the videographer as well as those present at the time of the post-mortem may throw up some crucial clues in the case, which could reveal the deeper conspiracy behind this heinous rape and murder.
The investigating officers are also questioning the victim’s family members and her close family associates to get a clear idea about the circumstances under which her body was cremated in a hurry despite the wishes of the parents that the body be preserved for some time.
CBI officials believe that if the body had been preserved, a second post-mortem would have been possible, which would have been very useful in the investigation process as it would have revealed more information.
