Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader and Buxar MP Sudhakar Singh urged party supremo Lalu Prasad to rethink former Bihar minister Tej Pratap Yadav from the party.
Lalu Prasad had announced to expel Tej Pratap Yadav from the party regarding the alleged relationship with another woman.
Tej Pratap Yadav is the elder son of Lalu Prasad. He announced on social media on 24 May that he has been in a relationship with a woman for 12 years. “However, she is married and her divorce application is pending in a court here.
However, he later ‘deleted’ the post and claimed that his social media page was “hacked”. The next day Lalu Prasad expelled him from the party.
Sudhakar Singh, who came in support of Tej Pratap, told reporters, “Second marriage in Hinduism is not a crime. This is a completely personal matter. I would like to say that the tradition of doing two marriages in India is not a new thing. ”
The MP said, “The visionary socialist thinker and politician Ram Manohar Lohia clearly wrote in his book ‘Saptakranti’ that all the relationship between a man and a woman except rape and deceit is valid. We are followers of Lohia ji… I personally feel that the party supremo should reconsider his decision about Tej Pratap. ”
Singh said, “We have seen and heard about examples of a man before a man performing many marriages. There are many examples of this… Take Chirag Paswan, who is the child of Ram Vilas Paswan’s second wife. Such examples are common in society. ”
Let me tell you that RJD supremo Lalu Prasad had expelled Tej Pratap Yadav from the party on 25 May, saying that his action was “irresponsible” and not in line with public conduct.
