Rohan Gupta condemned Rahul Gandhi's statement in America, said- this is an insult to Sikhs

New Delhi, September 10 (IANS) Bharatiya Janata Party leader Rohan Gupta on Tuesday targeted Rahul Gandhi over his statement in the US. He said that Rahul Gandhi should avoid making such statements abroad, because if he does so, it will only harm him.

In fact, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, who arrived in the US on a three-day visit, while addressing a program, made such a statement on India’s religious freedom, after which the BJP is attacking him.

Rahul Gandhi had said, “Sikhs in India do not have the freedom to follow their religious beliefs. They are being prevented from wearing turbans and all this is happening during the reign of the current government.”

BJP leader Rohan Gupta has reacted sharply to his statement.

Rohan Gupta said, “The whole country is shocked by Rahul Gandhi’s statement that Sikhs are not being allowed to wear turbans in India. They are not being allowed to follow religious beliefs. Where did this thing come from? Such a situation has never arisen in our country till date that someone is not allowed to follow the rules of his religion. There is complete freedom in India.”

He said, “I don’t think it would be appropriate for Rahul Gandhi to go abroad and make such statements about India in any program. If he does so, it will affect India’s identity and secondly, his credibility will also be hurt. I think the opposition should avoid making such statements. They are not going to get any political benefit by doing this. If they think that they will get any benefit from such statements, then it is their misunderstanding. Politics and religion should be kept separate from each other. They should not be mixed together.”
