Harini Amarasuriya was born on 6 March 1970 in Colombo. She is an NPP Member of Parliament and became the 16th Prime Minister of Sri Lanka. According to reports, she is the third woman to hold the post of Prime Minister. Before her, Sirimavo Bandaranaike and Chandrika Kumaratunga were Prime Ministers. Amarasuriya has become a female Prime Minister after 25 years.
