Sambhal Violence: National President of Samajwadi Party and former Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav issued a statement on Monday saying that the riots in Sambhal were deliberately created by the BJP government to hide its failure and divert public attention. The BJP government is committing injustice and atrocities. The police opened fire with government and private weapons. Five youth have died. This is very sad. He further said that Samajwadi Party wanted to raise this issue in the Lok Sabha today but was not given the opportunity. When we get a chance, we will raise it in the House. The Samajwadi Party delegation will also be careful and will participate in the pain and suffering of the people there. He said that in a similar manner, the BJP government had filed anonymous cases against a large number of people in Kanpur and made recovery.
BJP created riot in Bahraich
Akhilesh Yadav said that BJP had created riots in Bahraich, there the BJP MLA had filed an FIR against the BJP leaders. BJP does injustice first. If someone opposes injustice, then government officials file a case against him. Samajwadi Party’s Sambhal MP Ziaur Rahman Burke was not in Sambhal that day, he was in Bengaluru, attending his program. A false case was filed against him. Akhilesh Yadav said that BJP has deliberately created riots to hide the loot it has committed in the elections. People are also saying that after watching the film Sabarmati, some people felt that they too have to become a big leader, that is why this was done.
BJP looted votes in assembly elections
Akhilesh Yadav said that the BJP government has looted votes in the Uttar Pradesh Assembly by-elections. Police forced EVM button to be pressed. Police were deployed in private dress and riots were created to divert attention from vote theft and election rigging. Videos have been found from various places. He also said that a petition was filed in Civil Court Chandausi on 19.11.2024 regarding Shahi Jama Masjid of Sambhal, the court ordered the survey without listening to the other party. After receiving the order, the District Magistrate and Superintendent of Police of Sambhal reached Jama Masjid with the police for survey within 2 hours without reading the order. Jama Masjid Committee, Ulama Ikram, all parties cooperated. When the survey was conducted for the first time on the orders of the court, everyone cooperated fully. After two and a half hours of survey, the District Magistrate said that the survey has been completed. Now the survey report will be submitted to the court.
Even after police put up barricades, people exercised restraint
On 22 November 2024, when people reached Jama Masjid for Friday prayers, the police put up barricades, even then people exercised restraint and offered prayers. There was no protest of any kind. The court date was on 29 November 2024, everyone was preparing for the court date but on the night of 23 November 2024, the police administration said that the survey would be conducted again on the morning of 24. Once the survey was done, who ordered the survey again? The lawyer of Shahi Jama Masjid also said that once the survey has been done, on whose orders will the survey be conducted again. If you want to conduct the survey again then get an order from the court but the District Magistrate did not hold any hearing. Showing dictatorship, he reached for the survey in the morning itself. The people of Muslim community still remained patient, after one and a half hour of survey, when people got information, they started gathering and wanted to know the reason for the survey. On this the CO abused him. Got lathi charged. There is video recording of this. The police opened fire with their government and private weapons. Dozens of people were injured, five youths who had gone out of their homes to buy goods died.
Petitioner, government and administration responsible
Akhilesh Yadav said that along with the petitioner, the administration and government are responsible for the Sambhal incident. The officers responsible for the incident should be suspended. He should be prosecuted for murder so that in future no one can commit such anti-constitutional act. Making a big allegation, Akhilesh also said that in the assembly by-elections, BJP stopped Muslims from voting, abused them and used sticks on them. Does anyone have the right to stop someone from voting? Does BJP have an answer to the action taken by the Election Commission against some people? There are people looting votes in the BJP government who are tarnishing the Constitution and democracy.
