These letters belong to the first Prime Minister of the country, they should be brought back. All documents are required by the country.
#WATCH BJP MP Sambit Patra says, “…Earlier, the letters written by Nehru ji to all leaders across the world were kept here. Their authenticity should be checked. Nehru wrote letters to many leaders including Edwina Mountbatten and Jayaprakash Narayan. According to Patra, this letter was taken by Sonia Gandhi. Now BJP is on target demanding his return. Sambit Patra said in Parliament whether Rahul Gandhi will help in bringing these letters back to the PM Museum? What was written in these letters that were written in such a hurry? Where are these kept, the public wants to know about it?
Patra asks the reason
Patra asked that the name of PM Museum is Nehru Museum and Library. Where only documents related to Jawaharlal Nehru were kept. All the PMs who have become till now, also had complete information about this place. In 2008, the UPA chairperson took all the letters with herself. Patra questioned why the decision to upload the entire content digitally was taken in 2010. But why was Sonia Gandhi in such a hurry? She took all the letters with her in 51 boxes.
What is the reason why the Gandhi family does not want to show these letters to the country? These letters are being hidden on such occasions when issues like the Constitution are being debated in Parliament. Patra again repeated the question that it was necessary to explain the reason for this. Why were these letters deleted before digitization? Why was such censorship implemented when an important issue like the Constitution was being debated?
this is the case
The Jawaharlal Nehru Museum was there in 1964. Today its name has been changed to PMML. There is a team of 29 members to run it. Its meeting was held in February. Jawaharlal Nehru’s correspondence, which was donated to the museum in 1971, was reported to be in the public domain. In 2008, Sonia Gandhi sent one of her representatives to a library and he got all the letters in 51 boxes delivered to his home. After taking judicial advice in this regard, Rizwan Qadri has written a letter to Rahul Gandhi. In which a demand has been made to return them back.
