New Delhi, March 15 (IANS). Congress leader Rashid Alvi spoke to IANS on Saturday and answered several major questions. He also reacted to AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi to target the RSS and BJP on the pretext of Veer Savarkar. Rashid Alvi said that Savarkar was not a religious man and his mine-pana will not be digested to the BJP. But today there is no point in opening these pages of history.
Asaduddin Owaisi says that the government can take away the mosque and the dargah, hence the Waqf law is being brought. Alvi said on this, “The amendment of the Waqf Board can take away the properties of the dargahs and mosques, so this law is being brought. It is unfortunate and it is unconstitutional.”
On the question of Asaduddin Owaisi’s statement of ‘who was timid’, Rashid Alvi said that when India was partitioned, a large number of people also voted for the Muslim League. Those who had voted for the Muslim League moved to Pakistan. The Congress never said that it is just a party of Hindus. When the Congress was fighting with Jinnah, it was also said that the Congress is a party of both Hindus and Muslims. This is the reason that leaders like Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru promised Muslims that there is no need to go to Pakistan. There will be equal rights of Hindus, Muslims, Sikhs, Christians inside India. So everyone is living together.
Communal tension spread after the death of a nurse in Karnataka. The post -mortem report confirmed the murder of the nurse. BJP leader Basavaraj Bommai called the case ‘Love Jihad’. He alleged that such incidents have increased since the Congress government came to power. In response to this question, the Congress leader said that BJP leaders should provide evidence in favor of such claims. If they do not give evidence, action should be taken against them. Love jihad should also mean them.
After a violent clash between two groups in Birbhum district of West Bengal, the Congress leader said that any such incident is unfortunate. The government there is definitely responsible for him. He alleged that the BJP tried his best in Uttar Pradesh, but Holi was also celebrated with the wisdom of Hindu and Muslim brothers and the prayers of Jumme were also performed peacefully.
Andhra Pradesh Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan said that many languages are needed, not two in the country. MK Stalin is doing politics in the name of Hindi language. In response to this question, Congress leader Rashid Alvi said that whoever opposes Hindi is also inspired by politics. One who talks about imposing Hindi, talks about implementing, he also does politics. There are hundreds of languages inside our country. We should respect everyone. It is important that the people of North India should learn the languages of the south and the people of the south should learn the languages of the north. But this is possible only when the people of North India take the first step and start learning the languages of the South.
