Sharda Sinha’s demise a big loss for Bihar: Lalu Prasad Yadav

Patna, 6 November (IANS). Famous folk singer Sharda Sinha died on Tuesday night. Rashtriya Janata Dal supremo and former Chief Minister of Bihar Lalu Prasad Yadav described his demise as a big loss for Bihar.

RJD supremo Lalu Yadav, while talking to journalists, expressed grief over the demise of Sharda Sinha. He said, Sharda Sinha ji died on the occasion of Chhath. His voice created a different atmosphere in the songs of Chhath festival.

Lalu Yadav further said that the entire family listened to and respected Sharda Sinha. I pray to Sun God to give peace to the soul of Sharda Sinha. May all his listeners be given the strength to bear the pain.

Lalu Yadav wished everyone a happy Chhath and said that Sharda Sinha not being among us is a big loss for Bihar.

Let us tell you that famous folk singer Sharda Sinha passed away on Tuesday night. She was 72 years old. A few days ago, he was admitted to AIIMS, Delhi due to illness. On Monday (November 4), when his health deteriorated, he was shifted to ventilator. Son Anshuman was sending his health updates to his fans through social media. He also shared the news of his demise.

Sharda Sinha’s son Anshuman Sinha broke the sad news on social media platform Facebook on Tuesday evening. He told, “Your prayers and love will always be with the mother. Chhathi Maiya has called the mother to herself. The mother is no longer with us in physical form.”

72-year-old Sharda Sinha, awarded Padma Bhushan, was a well-known name in Maithili and Bhojpuri songs. His popular songs include ‘Vivah Geet’ and ‘Chhath Geet’. He has also been honored with Padma Shri and Padma Vibhushan for his contribution to songs and music.
