New Delhi, March 19 (IANS). Lok Sabha MP from Thiruvananthapuram in Kerala and veteran Congress leader Shashi Tharoor praised PM Modi’s foreign policy on the Russia-Ukraine war. It has received a reaction from politicians. NDA leaders have supported Tharoor’s statement.
Haryana cabinet minister and veteran BJP leader Arvind Sharma said, “Who does not praise the Prime Minister. If someone is openly praised, someone does in mind. Our Prime Minister is such that the leaders of the whole world praise. There is no special thing in this. If Shashi Tharoor has praised, he will surely affect PM Modi’s way.”
Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Nirupam supported Shashi Tharoor to praise PM Modi. He said, “PM Modi is doing a good job and his honor on global forums, 140 crore citizens of India are respected. If the government is doing good work, the opposition should also appreciate it by playing democratic etiquette.”
Nirupam further said, “India’s global reputation is increasing due to the Prime Minister’s efforts, and it is necessary to praise good works above political discrimination. This strengthens the tradition of healthy democracy.”
In fact, Congress leader Shashi Tharoor admitted in the Raisina Dialogue held in New Delhi on Tuesday that criticizing India’s situation on the Russia-Ukraine war proved wrong for him.
Tharoor said that the strong and balanced policy that India has adopted in this matter makes it into an important global role, which can contribute significantly in establishing permanent peace.
He appreciated Prime Minister Narendra Modi, saying, “Prime Minister Modi is a leader who can embrace both Ukraine President Volodimir Jailonsky and Russian President Vladimir Putin.”
