Shimla, September 5 (IANS) On Thursday, the Hindu community took out a protest march against the illegal mosque built in Sanjauli in Himachal Pradesh’s capital Shimla. A large number of people participated in this march.
Minister Aniruddh Singh and others who participated in the march raised the question that under whose patronage was this mosque built?
There is tension between the two communities amid the political turmoil over the illegal mosque.
Police forces have been deployed at various places to keep an eye on every activity and prevent any untoward situation.
Minister Aniruddha said, “There is a continuous rise in cases of theft and love jihad in Sanjoli. It has become difficult for women to even walk, but the attitude of the administration is indifferent.”
He further said, “The mosque was constructed illegally. First one floor was built, then the second, then the third, in this way five floors were built, how? I think this situation is dangerous for the country and the state. My question to the administration is why water and electricity have not been cut till now? Such construction is possible only when there is cooperation from the administration.”
On Aniruddha’s allegation, Owaisi said, “Is there a BJP government in Himachal or a Congress government? Is there only hatred in Himachal’s shop of love?”
Former Himachal CM Jairam Thakur has also reacted to this. He demanded strict action from the administration against the illegal construction of the mosque.
Vikramaditya Singh also reacted on this issue.
He said, “I think this whole matter is sensitive. We have to take steps carefully. The law should do its work in a fair manner. We do not want any kind of politics to be done on the basis of religion.”
It is noteworthy that the issue of illegal mosque came to light after a dispute between Hindus and Muslims in Malyan last Friday.
Actually, local shopkeeper Yashpal Singh attacked a Muslim man. He suffered serious injuries on his head and leg. He got 14 stitches on his head. After the incident, local people have demanded to register a case of attempted murder against the attacker.
