New Delhi, September 8 (IANS). The Sanjauli Mosque dispute in Himachal Pradesh’s capital Shimla has reached the High Court. The hearing in the High Court will be held on October 5. Meanwhile, Acharya Pramod Krishnam reacted on the Shimla Mosque case on Sunday. He questioned Rahul Gandhi’s silence.
Acharya Pramod Krishnam asked Rahul Gandhi and Akhilesh Yadav questions on X. He wrote, “Congress ministers in Himachal are talking about demolishing the “mosque” in Shimla, but if there was a BJP government there today, all the champions of secularism would have thrown the country into the fire of riots. Now since Congress is ruling there, all the shopkeepers of love, from Rahul Gandhi to Akhilesh Yadav, are silent.”
Let us tell you that on August 30, a businessman was attacked in the area around the mosque. During this time people demanded the demolition of the mosque. After this, on September 5, a large number of protesters gathered outside the mosque and called the mosque illegal.
The protesters included BJP workers and members of Hindu organizations. They claimed that the mosque was built illegally and four floors were allegedly constructed. After this the matter reached the court.
However, the Himachal Pradesh Waqf Board told a Shimla court on Saturday that the mosque was built on its land but it had no information about who had constructed the additional four floors in the mosque.
In this matter, Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu had said that all residents of the state have equal rights and he respects all religions. He said, “Peaceful protests are allowed, but no one will be allowed to take the law into their own hands.”
Meanwhile, MLA Aniruddh Singh said that the mosque was built on government land and the matter is pending in the court for the last 14 years.
