New Delhi, March 29 (IANS). Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Nirupam described comedian Kunal Kamra as coward at the press conference on Saturday and said that the video he posted on social media violates the rules and dignities of the society. Nirupam said that a writer, poet or satirist has every right to speak, but he should use this right in dignity.
Nirupam said that a video was posted by Congress MPs, in which a song was played at a wedding ceremony which was not in line with that occasion. The lyrics of the song were, “Khoon Ke Pyasi Tera Khoon Drin,” which was completely wrong, because this type of song had no place on the auspicious occasion like marriage. The Gujarat Police had registered an FIR on this, but at the same time Nirupam also said that the Supreme Court gave relief, which was correct, but MPs should understand what they are speaking and should follow dignity.
After this, Nirupam, citing the Mumbai Police, said that Kunal Kamra should come in front of the police and cooperate in the investigation. They now have time till 31 March, and if they do not cooperate, the laws are very long. They themselves do not know where they can get trapped. He also said that Kamra will have to come in front of the police in Mumbai, whether before or later.
Nirupam also said that what happened against the Shinde government was derogatory for Shiva soldiers and expressed displeasure. Shiv Sena activists express their reverence and support to Shinde Saheb, and those who speak against him, Shiv soldiers are angry at him. Nirupam also said that if Kamra is truly courageous, he should face the police investigation and should not be bent on the allegations against him.
He said that it is not courage to put a song on YouTube. Courage occurs when you take responsibility for your words and stand on it. Nirupam also said that Kunal Kamra should now understand that his cowardly behavior is tarnishing his image somewhere.
