The Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) and the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) will “definitely” alliance for the upcoming local body elections in Maharashtra, but the final decision on this is likely to be held when the election time comes near. The leaders of both parties gave this information.
Shiv Sena (Ubatha) chief Uddhav Thackeray has been more vocal about the possible alliance, while his cousin and MNS president Raj Thackeray are silent on it.
Shiv Sena (Ubatha) MP on Friday said Sanjay Raut that his party will form an alliance with MNS for the municipal elections in Mumbai, Thane, Kalyan-Dombivali, Nashik and Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, but there is no statement on this from MNS so far.
A MNS official told ‘PTI-Bhasha’, “After the July 5 rally, we have reached a point where there is a lot of pressure from the public to alliance with Shiv Sena (Ubatha). Now Raj saheb will take a final decision on this. ”
The announcement of the alliance so soon would mean the additional pressure of seat sharing negotiations. Shiv Sena (Ubatha) and MNS leaders claimed that this would upset party workers from both sides who are vying to get party tickets from their respective wards.
It begins with the election of Shiv Sena (Ubatha) and MNS on Monday with the election of Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport (Best) Credit Society. Both parties have formed the ‘Utkarsh Committee’ to contest the Credit Society.
After the withdrawal of two controversial government proposals related to the ‘Tri-Language’ formula, implemented to students from class one to fifth in Maharashtra, Thackeray brothers shared a political platform last month after two decades after a “Vijay” ceremony.
