Gorakhpur, September 14 (IANS). The Shrimad Bhagwat Mahapuran Katha Gyan Yagna was started on Saturday at the Gorakhnath temple to mark the 55th death anniversary of Yugpurush Brahmalin Mahant Digvijaynath Maharaj and the 10th death anniversary of Rashtrasant Brahmalin Mahant Avaidyanath Maharaj. On this occasion, the Chief Minister of the state and Gorakshapeethadhiswar Yogi Adityanath said that the story of Shrimad Bhagwat Mahapuran is a story that explains the truth and the secrets of life. It is the story of reaching the peak of success and the ultimate truth of life. The daily, family, social and practical events of our life seem to revolve around the Shrimad Bhagwat Katha.
CM Yogi said that the stories related to Shrimad Bhagwat Katha and Lord Shri Ram’s Leela are very popular among the Sanatan people. The extent to which these two deities of Sanatan Dharma (Shri Ram and Shri Krishna) have influenced the people, such a wide example cannot be found anywhere else in the world. Even in such a time when everyone is busy, there is a tradition of devotees joining the Katha Shravan for hours throughout the week. The story of Shrimad Bhagwat Mahapuran also provides an opportunity to peek into our past and heritage.
CM Yogi Adityanath said that in the fierce battle of Mahabharata, every kind of widespread loss was suffered by the same Ved Vyas ji, with whose blessings the dynasty continued. One can imagine what the time of Mahabharata would have been like for Ved Vyas ji. Ved Vyas ji composed the Shrimad Bhagwat Mahapuran for peace of mind. The Shrimad Bhagwat Mahapuran composed by Ved Vyas ji 5200 years ago continues to be a source of inspiration for the followers of Sanatan Dharma, paving the way for their lives. The Chief Minister said that it is worth considering that the history of how many beliefs, religions and sects would be five thousand years old? But, the Shrimad Bhagwat Katha reveals the rise of human civilization, spiritual upliftment and material development from five thousand years ago.
CM Yogi said that salvation cannot be attained suddenly. For this, one has to earn money through ethical means while practising religion. By following this path, if the wishes are fulfilled, one will also be successful in attaining salvation. The Shrimad Bhagwat Katha explains this secret of attaining salvation. In the Shrimad Bhagwat Mahapuran, the leela is of Lord Krishna, but the vocabulary is of Ved Vyas ji, which is related to the revelation of the mysteries of life, eternal values and progress.
CM Yogi said that there is an unshakable belief in Sanatan that religion is not just a method of worship. The method of worship can be a part of religion, but cannot be the whole religion. Therefore, a true Hindu has never been a stickler for any one method of worship. Only the religion (Sanatan) which has such vastness can see the ups and downs of life with equanimity. Sanatan’s vastness has remained intact in any ups and downs.
After the address of CM Yogi, devotees were provided with the Srimad Bhagwat Katha by the Katha Vyas seated on the Vyaspeeth, Jagadguru Anantanand Dwaracharya Kashi Peethadheeshwar Swami Dr. Ram Kamal Das Vedanti Ji who came from Shri Ram Mandir Gurudham Kashi. The Katha will be narrated daily from 3 pm to 6 pm. It will end on September 20.
On this occasion, Chief Priest of Gorakhnath Temple Yogi Kamalnath, Mahant Suresh Das of Digambar Akhara Ayodhya, Mahamandaleshwar Santosh Das alias Satua Baba from Kashi, Mahant Awadhesh Das of Bade Bhaktmal Ayodhya, Mahant Sutikshan Das of Sudama Kuti Vrindavan, Mahant Ravindra Das of Kalibari, Panchanan Puri, MLA Vipin Singh, Mahendrapal Singh, former Mayor Sitaram Jaiswal along with other hosts and a large number of devotees were present.
