Sitaram Yechury : Communist Party of India leader Sitaram Yechury’s health suddenly deteriorated on Thursday (September 05, 2024), he has been admitted to AIIMS hospital in Delhi, where he has been shifted to a ventilator. He is being treated under the supervision of doctors. It is being told that he has a problem of infection in his lungs. Earlier also he was admitted on 19 August.
Let us tell you that Sitaram Yechury belongs to a Tamil Brahmin family, he is the General Secretary of the Communist Party of India. In the year 2016, he received the Best Parliamentarian Award. He joined the Students Federation of India (SFI) in 1974. After this, he became a member of the Communist Party of India (Marxist). Sitaram Yechury and Prakash Karat together played an important role in making JNU a stronghold of the left.
Did Masters from JNU
Left leader Sitaram Yechury did his Masters in Economics from Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU). After this, he took admission in PhD, but due to imposition of Emergency, he was arrested, due to which he had to leave his PhD studies. Let us tell you that Sitaram Yechury’s elder son Ashish died due to Corona virus, he was only 35 years old.
