The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said on Saturday that more than 500 Indian citizens have returned home from Iran under Operation Indus.
The Indian citizens, who were expelled from Iran, expressed their happiness on returning to India and raised the slogan ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’. The Ministry of External Affairs shared an update about the status of the withdrawal campaign in a post on X. After the military conflict with Israel from Iran, many Indian citizens, including students, reached Delhi late on Friday and Saturday.
According to the information received from the Ministry of External Affairs, Operation Sindhu continues. A special withdrawal aircraft from Ashgabat, Turkmenistan reached New Delhi at 0300 am today. With this, 517 Indian citizens have returned home from Iran under Operation Indus.
According to the information, this campaign has been launched in view of the deteriorating situation due to the ongoing struggle between Israel and Iran. Last night also an aircraft reached Delhi with 290 Indians. The Indian Embassy in Iran is helping a large number of Indians to reach safe places.
Indians living in Iran have been asked to stay in contact with the Indian Embassy in Tehran and 24 -hour control room in New Delhi through an emergency helpline.
