Meanwhile, the Ministry of Defense said on Friday that heads of the 707th Special Mission Group of the South Korean Army and six other military officers have been placed on mandatory leave on 3 December due to their alleged involvement in implementing martial law.
Seven officers include Colonel Kim Hyun-Taay, head of the 707th special mission group of the army. According to the ministry, Brigadier General Lee Song-Hune, Commander of First Special Force Brigade and Major General Park Hen-Sura, heads of the Ministry’s Criminal Investigation Command. The latest decision has maintained the affected officers as military workers. This can enable the army to take disciplinary action in case of being found guilty in court.
