Sol, March 15 (IANS). Thousands of supporters and protesters gathered on Saturday in Sol, South Korea. The President of the Constitutional Court, Union Suk Yol, is going to recite his decision over the impeachment on the country, due to which the political atmosphere of the country has been hot.
The Constitutional Court has completed the hearing and it will pronounce the verdict whether Yu is removed from the presidency or not. The date of hearing for the verdict has not been announced yet. If Un is formally removed from the post, there will be a quick election within 60 days. If the impeachment dismisses, Yu will immediately resume its duties.
The anti -Union Citizen Group Candle Move held rallies near the Constitutional Court at Central Sol.
The rally was followed by another massive protest in the nearby Guangahwamun region. A group of opposition MPs also participated in it.
The country’s largest labor union, the Korean Trade Union Confederation (KCTU) also performed a separate demonstration in the Central Sol.
KCTU President Yang Qong-Su, recently referring to the decision by the court to release him, said, “We are all well aware of why Un Suk Yol should be removed … Now is the most vigorous opposition time, because he has come out of jail smiling.”
Police estimated that around 20,000 people participated in the rallies.
Let me tell you on 3 December, on the charge of inciting rebellion through unsuccessful attempt to implement martial law. He was released from jail on March 9, as the prosecution decided not to appeal against his court’s court verdict. The court had described Yu’s custody as illegal. However, impeachment and criminal cases against Yu will continue.
In Guangahwamun, the estimated 35,000 people gathered, and raising slogans to fracture the national assembly of Yu.
According to the Yonhap news agency, some supporters of Yu staged a protest before the Constitutional Court, where they also clashed with the opponents for some time.
President Yu announced an emergency martial law in South Korea on the night of 03 December, but it was canceled after the Parliament voted against it. Marshal Law remained in force for a few hours. However, the martial law, which came into force for a few ghats, shook the country’s politics.
The National Assembly has passed a resolution against President Union Suk Yol and acting President Han Duck-Suk-Su. Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Choi Song-Moks are handling the responsibility of both the acting President and the caretaker Prime Minister.
