Jalandhar, Aug 30 (IANS) Five Singh Sahibans held a meeting at the secretariat of Sri Akal Takht Sahib in Jalandhar, Punjab on Friday. In the meeting, Shiromani Akali Dal chief Sukhbir Singh Badal was blamed. Sukhbir Badal has been held responsible for the communal mistakes committed during the tenure of his government.
Giani Raghbir Singh said that today in the meeting of the five Singh Sahibans, it was decided unanimously that Sukhbir Badal, as the Deputy Chief Minister of the state and the President of the Akali Dal, took such decisions which harmed the Panthic and the condition of the Akali Dal became very bad and Sikh interests were harmed. Therefore, Sukhbir Badal is declared Tankhaiya (guilty).
He said that therefore the Sikh Cabinet Minister of that time should give an affidavit within 15 days and Sukhbir Badal should appear before the five Singh Sahiban and Sri Guru Granth Sahib at Sri Akal Takht Sahib as a common Sikh and apologize for his crime.
Earlier, rebel Shiromani Akali Dal leaders, including former MP Prem Singh Chandumajra and former Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) chief Bibi Jagir Kaur, appeared before the Jathedar on July 1. They apologized for four mistakes made during the party’s rule between 2007 and 2017. These mistakes include not punishing those responsible for the 2015 sacrilege incidents and forgiving Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh in the 2007 blasphemy case. The leaders blamed the then Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Badal for these “mistakes”.
