Stampede at New Delhi railway station due to lack of mismanagement and infrastructure: Raghav Chadha

Chandigarh, 16 February (IANS). Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Rajya Sabha MP Raghav Chadha has expressed grief over the stampede on Saturday night at New Delhi railway station. Speaking to IANS, he said that the incident at New Delhi railway station is very sad. I pray to God to place the dead at their feet, give their families the power to bear this grief. Those who have been injured, wish them to get well soon.

MP Raghav Chadha said, “I had raised many issues related to the railway while addressing the Rajya Sabha on 11 February last. I think I could not draw the attention of the Railway Minister on the issues raised by me. This incident occurred due to deficiency which is unfortunate. “

He said, “Innocent people going to Prayagraj Mahakumbh have fallen victim to the mismanagement of the railway. They have made the system so that people are not feeling safe. I want to say clearly that there is no such day It is when there is no news of any incident in the railway.

Let me tell you that there was a stampede on platform number 13 and 14 of New Delhi railway station late on Saturday night when rumors of the cancellation of two trains going to Prayagraj were allegedly spread among the passengers. The death of 18 people was confirmed in this accident, many people have also been injured in the accident, who are being treated. After the accident, the Railways arranged special trains and reduced the crowd pressure on the platform. Railways have ordered a high level inquiry into the incident.

Apart from this, the Railways has announced a compensation of Rs 10 lakh to the families of the deceased, Rs 2.5 lakh to the seriously injured passengers and Rs 1 lakh to a minor injured passengers.
