AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi on Sunday expressed condolences on the deaths after a stampede at New Delhi railway station and demanded an investigation into the independent, judicial monitoring SIT. He blamed the Modi government.
The Lok Sabha MP from Hyderabad also demanded an independent investigation into the “systemic failures” of Indian Railways in a post written on X.
18 people died and more than a dozen were injured in a stampede at the crowded railway station late on Saturday night. Owaisi wrote, “I have deep condolences to the loved ones of those killed in a stampede at New Delhi railway station. It was a stripped tragedy.”
He wrote, “The BJP government is trying to hide what happened. It needs to be done instead: 1. Appointment of an independent, judicial monitoring SIT to investigate the tragedy. 2. The systemic failures of Indian Railways There should be an independent investigation. “
He further said that Indian Railways is the lifeline of millions of Indians and it is not entitled to the “mismanagement” of Prime Minister Narendra Modi government.
Significantly, the incident of stampede took place before the crowd of passengers waiting for trains going to Prayagraj, where Mahakumbh is going on. Recall that a few days ago there was also a stampede in Prayagraj Mahakumbh, in which many devotees were casualties.
