Bengaluru, September 12 (IANS) Karnataka Home Minister G. Parameshwara reacted to the stone pelting incident during Ganesh immersion in Mandya, Karnataka. He said that 52 people have been arrested after the stone pelting incident.
Karnataka Home Minister G. Parameshwara, while giving information about the case, said that during Ganesh Visarjan in Mandya, someone threw stones at the procession, after which there was stone pelting from the other side too. During this, arson was also done. However, as soon as the information of the case was received, the police handled the situation and about 52 people from both the sides were arrested. Everything is under control at the spot and there is nothing to worry about.
He further said, “Senior officers are present on the spot and in view of the situation, additional forces have also been deployed. I have directed ADG Law and Order to go to the spot to take stock of the situation. Also, some people have suffered minor injuries and information has been sought regarding the number of people injured.”
Karnataka Home Minister G. Parameshwara hit back at the BJP’s allegations. He said, “This matter is serious, but I want to make it clear that we had deployed security personnel. All necessary steps were taken, it is not that it was completely ignored. But necessary action will be taken regarding the incident that has happened. No one has been seriously injured during this incident. But I have asked for a report in this matter.”
Let us tell you that during Ganesh Visarjan in Mandya, Karnataka, there was a clash between two communities. During this, stone pelting, vandalism and arson also took place. At present, heavy security forces have been deployed on the spot.
