Jerusalem, 24 March (IANS). Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and US Secretary of State Marco Rubio discussed the phone on the phone about the efforts to release the hostages present in Hamas’s captivity and the Israeli attacks on Gaza.
A statement issued from Netanyahu’s office on Sunday said, “Both discussed regional development, including the release of Israeli hostages and resumes in Gaza.”
He also said that Rubio expressed unwavering support for Israel and its policies of America.
According to the report by the news agency Xinhua, Israel has launched aerial and ground attacks in Gaza since Tuesday, which has effectively eliminated a two -month ceasefire.
According to Gaza health officials, around 673 people have been killed and 1,233 others were injured in the bombing.
Meanwhile, Hamas accused Israel of breaking the ceasefire agreement between the two in January.
Hamas spokesperson Tahir Al-Nunu said in a statement on Friday that the group is evaluating new proposals for the mediators aimed at reviving the ceasefire, including the “Bizing” proposal of American messenger Steve Witchoff.
Earlier on February 16, the Israeli Prime Minister vowed that if Hamas does not return all his hostages, he will “open the doors of hell”. He also praised President Trump’s “Adventure approach to Gaza’s future”.
In a joint statement with US Secretary of State Rubio, Benjamin Netanyahu said the US and Israel have a common strategy in Gaza’s case.
The statement said, “We cannot always share the details of this strategy with the public, including ‘when the doors of hell will be opened’, because if all our hostages are not released till the last hostage, they will definitely open.”
He said, “We will end Hamas’s military ability and its political rule in Gaza. We will bring back all our hostages and we will ensure that Gaza never threatens Israel again.”
