Tamil Nadu: In the budget session, all the parties will get full opportunity to speak: Assembly Speaker M. Appavu

Chennai, March 14 (IANS). Tamil Nadu Assembly Speaker M. Appavu has announced that the state budget session will run from March 17 to April 30. During this session, sessions will be held only in the morning and afternoon, there will be no session in the evening.

Appavu said that the budget presented on the floor of the House was successful. He said that during the budget session, all the members in the assembly will be given equal opportunities and all the parties will get full opportunity to speak.

Former Chief Minister O. Appavu also gave his opinion on the seating arrangement for Panneerselvam. He said that the current location allotted to Panneerselvam is suitable and they should be satisfied with it.

Tamil Nadu Finance Minister Thangam Thenarasu on Friday presented a budget of 2025-26 at the Legislative Assembly building at the State Secretariat.

During this, Finance Minister Thangam Thenarsu said that the budget aims to uplift the marginalized communities, provide assistance to the students and create more opportunities for professionals. The budget includes free bus travel for women, development of 2,000 acres of modern city, and Rs 20,000 subsidy to buy electric scooters for 2,000 gig workers. The economic growth and employment generation of Tamil Nadu has been given priority in the budget along with strategic investment in industrial parks, skill development and transport infrastructure.

The budget session of this time is considered to be politically important, and many important issues are likely to be discussed during this period.
