He said that the previous YSR Congress (YSRCP) government used animal fat and substandard material in making Tirupati laddus. These people used to make laddus with animal fat instead of pure ghee. After this allegation of his, political turmoil has started in the state. At the same time, YSRC completely rejected Naidu’s allegation. Let us tell you that Tirupati laddu is offered as prasad in Sri Venkateswara temple of Tirupati.
The temple is managed by the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD). Addressing the NDA Legislature Party meeting, Naidu claimed that Tirumala laddu was also made from substandard ingredients. They used animal fat instead of ghee. Chief Minister Naidu said that now pure ghee is being used, which has improved the quality.
Nara Lokesh also became an easy target
At the same time, Andhra Pradesh IT Minister Nara Lokesh has targeted the then Jagan Mohan Reddy administration on this issue. He wrote on the social media platform that Lord Venkateswara Swamy Temple in Tirumala is our most sacred temple. I was surprised to know that the YS Jagan Mohan Reddy administration used animal fat instead of ghee in Tirupati Prasadam. Lokesh alleged that the YSRCP cannot respect the religious sentiments of crores of devotees. Naidu’s Telugu Desam Party came to power in the state in June in alliance with Pawan Kalyan’s Jana Sena and the BJP.
YSRCP hits back
However, YSRCP has rejected these allegations of Naidu. YSRCP leader and former TTD chairman YV Subba Reddy termed Naidu’s allegation as malicious and said that the TDP supremo can stoop to any level for political gain. Subba Reddy said that Naidu has hurt the sanctity of the holy Tirumala and the faith of crores of Hindus with his statement. His comments about Tirumala Prasadam are extremely malicious.
