Dehradun, Sep 5 (IANS) Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Thursday paid tribute to former President, educationist and philosopher Dr. Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan by offering flowers to his portrait on the occasion of his birth anniversary at the Chief Minister’s residence. On this occasion, the Chief Minister also wished all the teachers a Happy Teacher’s Day.
He said that teachers are the true nation builders. Teachers play an important role in character building of students and making them good citizens. Teachers not only contribute significantly in nation building by educating students, but also play a big role in giving a new direction to the society.
The Bharatiya Janata Party’s membership drive in Uttarakhand started on Tuesday. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami started this drive and said that it will be organised in the districts of the state. BJP State President Mahendra Bhatt, Cabinet Minister Ganesh Joshi, Satpal Maharaj and many BJP officials were also present in the programme organised at the State BJP office.
While launching the membership campaign, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that this campaign will also be organized in the districts of the state from September 4. He expressed confidence that the BJP will be successful in achieving the set goals. Dhami said that BJP workers are fully engaged in making this campaign a success.
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said, “I thank the state president and national president of my party. The membership campaign has started across the country on Monday. Prime Minister Narendra Modi took membership as the first member of the party in the country and on Tuesday I was made the first member of the party in the state. Our membership campaign has started across the country from Tuesday. Apart from this, our organization will also expand in the next few days, and we will reach those areas where we did not have a presence till now.”
