India and Canada: Relations between India and Canada are deteriorating further. Now the Canadian government has taken another big step, which is being criticized. In fact, Canada has banned the Australian channel showing the press conference of Indian Foreign Minister S Jaishankar. The Indian Foreign Ministry criticized the Canadian government’s ban on Australian channel ‘Australia Today’. Foreign Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said the Trudeau government’s move is an attack on freedom of expression and exposes Canada’s hypocrisy.

He said that we understand that the social media handles and pages of the Australian channel, which is an important diaspora outlet, have been blocked. This comes hours after the press conference with External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar and his Australian counterpart Penny Wong was broadcast. We were surprised, but I would still say that these petty actions once again expose Canada’s hypocrisy towards freedom of expression.

These things were said in the press conference

He said that during the press conference, Foreign Minister S Jaishankar had talked about giving political space to anti-India elements in Canada. Australia Today channel has been blocked for criticizing Canada. The Foreign Minister spoke only on three issues. He had said that Canada is making allegations without any evidence, which has become a pattern. Indian diplomats were being monitored in Canada, which is unacceptable. Along with this he had said that anti-India elements have been given political importance in Canada.
