New Delhi, September 21 (IANS). Prime Minister Narendra Modi will leave for the US on Saturday on a three-day visit to attend the ‘Quad Summit’. During this time the Prime Minister will also attend many other programs. Of course, America is busy preparing for the Quad Summit, but this year this summit was to be held in India and not in America, but at the last moment the responsibility of hosting it was handed over to America. What was the reason that the responsibility was handed over to America? Let’s know in detail.
While giving the reason for not organising the Quad Summit in India on behalf of East Asia and Oceania in the National Security Council, it was said that when we tried to understand the entire outline of the program in detail, we felt that America would be a suitable place to organise this event this year. Prime Minister Narendra Modi had also expressed his consent in this direction. After this, America was selected to host the event.
The Biden administration also explained in detail that next year the Quad conference will be held in India, this year it is being held in the US. However, this program was to be held in India itself, but the leaders attending the program did not allow it, due to which we had to change the entire plan.
East Asia and Oceania in the National Security Council also issued a statement in this regard saying that although this event was to be organized in India, but when we looked at the schedules of all the leaders participating in it, we did not see any possibility of it, after which we decided that the event should be organized in America instead of India. However, now it will be organized in India next year. All member countries will participate in it and the entire outline will be determined.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will attend several programs during his three-day US visit. The Prime Minister will attend the ‘Quad Leaders Summit’ in Wilmington, Delaware on September 21. It will be hosted by US President Joe Biden. Apart from this, on September 22, PM Modi will address the people of the Indian community in New York.
President Biden will host the Quad summit in his hometown of Wilmington. The event will also be attended by Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and his Japanese counterpart Fumio Kishida.
If we talk about Quad, its original meaning is The Quadrilateral Security Dialogue. When tsunami hit the Indian Ocean in 2004, coastal countries were affected on a large scale. After this, India, America, Australia and Japan took steps to help the coastal affected countries. The Quad summit meeting continued between 2007 and 2010. After this the meeting stopped. Meanwhile, China put a lot of pressure on Australia, as a result of which Australia started distancing itself from this organization.
