The opposition Congress in Goa said that the Chief Minister of the state Pramod Sawant should write a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi requesting to hold a joint meeting with Karnataka to resolve the Mahadayi River Water Bantwara dispute.
There is a dispute between Goa and the state of Karnataka, bordering the Mahadayi river, between the Mahadayi river water sharing. The BJP -ruled Goa has accused the Congress -ruled Karnataka that it is planning to turn the river water by building two dams.
Anjali Nimbalkar, Anjali Nimbalkar, AICC Secretary (Goa, Daman and Diu, Dadra and Nagar Haveli) said that Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah had already written a letter to the Prime Minister to call a joint meeting to resolve the dispute.
Nimbalkar said that it is the duty of the Chief Minister of Goa to write a letter to the Prime Minister and urge him to call a meeting of the states and the Center to resolve the dispute.
