New Delhi, Sep 4 (IANS) The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and the Congress are set to come together for the upcoming Haryana assembly elections. Media reports have claimed that an alliance is being formed between the two parties and it will be announced soon in a press conference. Kamaljeet Sehrawat, BJP MP from West Delhi, quipped that their alliance will have the same fate as it did in the Lok Sabha elections in Delhi.
The seat sharing formula will also be sorted out soon by the top leadership of both the parties. But, it remains to be seen how many seats out of the 90 assembly seats Congress gives to AAP, which once claimed to contest the elections on its own.
Till some time back both the parties were claiming to contest the elections on their own and were talking about forming the next government in the state on their own. But now Congress-AAP will fight together to stop BJP from forming the government in Haryana for the third time.
Kamaljeet Sehrawat, BJP MP from West Delhi, has targeted the alliance of AAP and Congress in Haryana. He said, Congress and Aam Aadmi Party had also formed an alliance in the Lok Sabha elections. The result is in front of everyone. All the seven seats of Delhi went to BJP.
It is noteworthy that the AAP-Congress alliance had fielded its candidates on all the seven Lok Sabha seats of Delhi. AAP had contested on four seats and Congress on three seats, but the alliance had to face defeat on all the seats.
The BJP MP said, like Delhi, AAP and Congress are going to form an alliance in Haryana too. But, the people of Haryana are wise. Both the national parties, which do not miss a single opportunity to abuse each other, will contest the elections together. Congress needs the Aam Aadmi Party. On the other hand, AAP, which was born calling Congress corrupt, is ready to go with it. The people of Haryana understand that they do not want to do development work, but want to stop development. The people will vote for BJP for development.
