Ranchi, Aug 31 (IANS) During the race competition being organised for the recruitment of constables in the Excise Department in Jharkhand, the death of several youths and fainting of a large number of candidates has raised questions on the recruitment process.
Bharatiya Janata Party state president Babulal Marandi and Palamu BJP MP BD Ram have held the state government responsible for the deaths of candidates and incidents of them falling unconscious and sick.
BJP state president Babulal Marandi wrote on the social media platform X regarding this matter, “Is Chief Minister Hemant Soren distributing jobs or death? The notification for constable recruitment in the Excise Department was issued on August 8, the admit card was given on August 14 and the race for physical efficiency test was started from August 22. In such a situation, how will the candidates prepare for the race in just 15 days?
He said that six unemployed youths of the state died due to the haste to organize the race in the humid heat of Bhado. The Hemant government has neither made arrangements for drinking water nor toilets at the recruitment centers. Women candidates are also participating in this competition, but there is no arrangement for breastfeeding small children at the recruitment centers.
Marandi further wrote, “It seems that you have made arrangements to spread death just to not give jobs. Tell the public who is responsible for the death of these six unemployed youths? The state government should conduct a judicial inquiry into these deaths and provide proper compensation and government jobs to the dependents of the deceased youths.”
Here, Palamu MP Vishnu Dayal Ram has also reacted sharply to the incidents of death of youth during the race.
He said that these deaths have happened due to the negligence of the government. The government should give compensation of one crore rupees to the families of the deceased. The government should either immediately stop the process of reinstatement or review the time fixed for the race competition.
