Ramban, September 16 (IANS). The political temperature is at its peak in the election-bound state of Jammu and Kashmir. Voting is to be held in the first phase in the Ramban assembly seat here. On Sunday, the IANS team met the people in Ramban and tried to know their mood.
A person named Sohail said, whoever forms the government in Jammu and Kashmir, should do the right thing. Here poor people have to face the problem of electricity and water. There is no road connectivity here. Many people are still forced to live in darkness, like they were living 70 years ago. Modi government has worked to provide water and electricity to every house. They have implemented a scheme worth thousands of crores of rupees. A loan system has been introduced for the unemployed.
A middle class senior citizen of Ramban said that elections are being held here after 10 years. We had to face a lot of difficulties in the last 10 years. There was no government to listen to our problems. But now elections are going to be held here and we have a lot of expectations from the upcoming government. We have local issues for elections here. Problems of unemployment, electricity and water should be solved.
A businessman said that if there is development in Jammu and Kashmir, we all will benefit from it. If a local candidate wins, he will develop this place.
Let us tell you that voting is to be held in three phases in Jammu and Kashmir. In the first phase, voting is to be held on 24 assembly seats of seven districts of the valley, Kulgam, Ramban, Kishtwar, Pulwama, Anantnag, Shopian and Doda. Apart from this, voting is to be held for the second phase on September 25 and for the third phase on October 1. The results of all will come on October 8.
