Mumbai, March 21 (IANS). Bharatiya Janata Party leader Sanjay Upadhyay has given a big statement on Maharashtra’s education policy on Friday. Talking to IANS, he said that the state government has decided to adopt the CBSE pattern keeping in mind the future of children. In addition, emphasis is being laid on inclusion of local language and history in the new education policy. At the same time, he also expressed his opinion on the questions arising about the death of Disha Salian.
Upadhyay said that children of Maharashtra are able to be less successful than others in competitive examinations. The reason for this is that most examinations are based on CBSE patterns.
He said, “If we adopt this pattern, then our children will also be able to move forward like other children. It will not harm them, but will benefit.”
He also said that there is talk of giving place to local language and history in the new education policy. Our history in previous books was almost missing. Now the government is ensuring that the younger generation gets the right information about our great men. This is our priority.
Upadhyay said that the government has not yet said anything concrete. Financial preparation is necessary before the beginning. The government has only emphasized its need. He then mentioned the Disha Salia case.
He said, “Many things were revealed at the time of Disha Salian’s death, but then it was suppressed. Now his father is speaking in court. It is a time of strict action.”
Upadhyay also targeted the Congress. He alleged that the Congress made a lot of promises, but did not fulfill them. The Congress is ready to increase the salary of MLAs, but forgot the interest of the public. It seems that for them, their own interest is more important than the public.
He said that the BJP is working for the public, while the opposition is only doing politics.
