New Delhi, October 1 (IANS). Delhi Chief Minister Atishi had recently announced that by Diwali all the roads in the state will be repaired and made pothole free. After this, state government ministers are visiting the common people and taking stock of the broken roads. On Tuesday, Cabinet Minister Gopal Rai and Gokulpur Assembly MLA Surendra Chaudhary, along with PWD officials, inspected the broken roads on Loni Border and Wazirabad Road near Nand Nagari Bus Depot.
Speaking to IANS during the inspection, Minister Gopal Rai said, “Instructions have been issued to all concerned officials to stay here. People’s problems will be resolved immediately. Regarding this road, I have been told that this problem is occurring in the last eight to nine months. In the last eight to nine months, a conspiracy is also going on to stall the development works of Delhi Government. All this has been done deliberately to harass the public. The MPs of this area also blame the state government. They can only make allegations, cannot do anything. The state government has been brought to a standstill by the central government.”
Gokulpur Assembly MLA Surendra Chaudhary said after inspecting the area, PWD has started work in our area. Work is going on continuously on the road near Seva Dham for the last three days. First they repaired the road, and today the process of building the road has been started. However, where there are few potholes, they will be rectified by applying patches on the roads.
Also gave clarification regarding delay in work. Said, work is going on under a project in the area, and some delay has also happened due to the flyover. Actually, in view of a work project, PWD had already stopped the repair work, but today the Minister has ordered that the potholes which have increased should be filled immediately. Roads keep being built, they were built earlier also and work is starting even now. This is project work, so there is a slight delay. The contractor has said that he is not being paid and his account has been seized, hence his helplessness. “Nevertheless, the Minister is into this matter and will find some solution so that this problem can be solved.”
