There are a large number of people from UP-Bihar in Delhi who effectively play a decisive role in many seats. Chhath is considered to be the biggest festival of Bhojpuri belt.
What did CM Atishi ask for in the letter?
Regarding Chhath Puja, Aam Aadmi Party leader and Delhi CM Atishi has written a letter to Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena demanding that November 7 be declared a public holiday. He said that there is Arghya on the evening of Chhath festival on 7th November. Chhath festival is also included in the banned holidays of Delhi government. Therefore this day should be declared a public holiday. He wrote: Chhath Puja is going to happen in the next few days. This festival of faith is celebrated for four days. On the third day, Arghya is offered to the setting sun. This is most important. Whereas the next morning the rising sun is worshiped by offering Arghya. The Delhi government has included the third day of this festival i.e. November 7 as a restricted holiday, but this day should be declared a public holiday. He said that the file has been sent to the Lieutenant Governor to declare November 7 as a public holiday on the day of Mahaparva. They should accept this and provide relief to lakhs of devotees.
