A political storm has arisen in Maharashtra after the disputed video of Shiv Sena MLA Sanjay Gaikwad went viral. The opposition party is an attacker on the ruling party over the incident. Recently, the Shiv Sena leader was enraged by the poor food in the Gaikwad canteen and beaten the canteen manager, whose video went viral. In this video, he was wearing a vest and a gap. Now opposition leaders have opposed him in a unique way. Several MLAs of opposition parties protested the incident by wearing vest and gamcha in the assembly on Wednesday. During this time, opposition members targeted the Shiv Sena and criticized Gaikwad and also raised slogans of ‘Chadhi-Baniyan Gang Hi-Hi’.
The opposition MLAs led by Aditya Thackeray and Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) coalition leaders reached Vidhan Bhavan on Tuesday wearing a pot and vest and made fun of the government’s Gundai culture. Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena (UBT) MLA Aditya Thackeray said, “This Chadhi-Baniyan gang resorts to muscle power and intimidation. They abuse people, attack employees and the Chief Minister should curb their gang, otherwise their own image will be tarnished.”
‘Taught him a lesson in his own style’
The dispute began earlier this month when there was a fight over food served in the government canteen at Akashvani MLA residence, Gaikwad, who was two -time MLA from Buldhana. Unhappy with the quality of lentils and rice, Gaikwad entered the canteen wearing a vest and towel, smelling food to the canteen contractor and then slapped and punched it. In the viral video, the Gaikwad is seen scolding the contractor, refusing to pay and boasting that he has taught him ‘in his own style’. Not only this, a day after the incident, Gaikwad again warned that he would not hesitate to repeat it.
Chief Minister Fadnavis condemns the incident
After the video went viral, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis condemned the act. He said that this kind of behavior gives the ‘wrong message’ by legislators to misuse his power. Fadnavis said, ‘Such conduct does not suit anyone. This affects his image as a state legislature and an MLA. This gives a wrong message to all the MLAs among the public that they are misusing power.
Shinde separated himself from the act of Gaikwad
Meanwhile, Eknath Shinde also separated himself from the act of Gaikwad. Shinde said, ‘I have told Sanjay Gaikwad that his act was unfair. I will not support his act. If something is going wrong, legal action can be taken, but beating people is unfair.
