Talking to the media, Rahul Gandhi said that he has the right to go inside the Parliament.
The leader of opposition in the Lok Sabha said, “This may have happened on your camera. I was trying to go inside from the Parliament entrance, BJP MPs were trying to stop, push and threaten me. That’s why it happened. Yes, it happened (Mallikarjun Kharge was pushed) but this is the entrance and we have the right to go inside. Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha and Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge has written a letter to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla saying that BJP MPs pushed him at Makar Dwar and he suffered a knee injury. He has urged the Speaker to investigate the incident.
Earlier, BJP MP Pratap Chandra had claimed that he was standing on the stairs when another MP fell on him, causing injury to his head.
