Multi-level security arrangements have been made for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Jammu and Kashmir on Friday. The officers provided this information.
He informed that during this visit, the Prime Minister will inaugurate the much awaited Kashmir Rail Link and dedicate several development projects worth more than Rs 46,000 crore to the nation in Katra.
Prime Minister Modi will inaugurate India’s Engineering Excellence Prior to the completion of 272 km long Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla Railway Link (USBRL) before flagging off the Vande Bharat trains and will inaugurate India’s first cable-sted fig bridge.
Chenab Bridge: 1,315 m long, secured against earthquake and strong wind.
Fort Bridge: India’s first cable-set rail bridge built in a challenging area.
According to officials, Prime Minister Modi will also flag off two Vande Bharat Express trains from Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra to Srinagar and on return route.
He will lay the foundation stone for construction of road widening project from Rafiabad to Kupwara on National Highway-701 and Shopian bypass road on NH-444, which will cost more than Rs 1,952 crore.
According to officials, he will also inaugurate two flyover projects at Sangram Junction on National Highway-1 in Srinagar and two flyover projects on National Highway-44.
Prime Minister Modi will also lay the foundation stone of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Institute of Medical Excellence in Katra, costing more than Rs 350 crore. This will be the first medical college in Reasi district to contribute significantly to the infrastructure of healthcare in the region.
Officials said that in view of the Prime Minister’s visit, high security alert has been issued throughout Jammu and Kashmir and officials of police, paramilitary forces, army and intelligence agencies are personally monitoring the situation. Officials said heavy security forces have been deployed around the venue and the latest equipment including drones has been deployed for strict monitoring. He said that the security system has been further strengthened in borders and interiors to prevent infiltration and anti -national and destructive elements.
Officials said raids on the houses of suspects have been intensified under security, including ‘over ground workers’ and relatives of active terrorists from across the border.
