Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin on Tuesday reiterated the demand for allegedly ‘imposing’ Hindi language in Tamil Nadu and other southern states, recking up that these states never wanted the northern states to learn their languages.
Stalin further said that in the last few years, ‘South India Hindi Prachar Sabha’ was established to teach Hindi to the southern states, but ‘North India Tamil Prachar Sabha’ was never established to learn any other language to ‘preserve’ in the northern part of the country.
Posting social media on X, Stalin wrote, “A century has passed since the establishment of South India Hindi Prachar Sabha to teach Hindi to South Indians. How many North India Tamil propaganda meetings have been established in North India in all these years? The truth is that we have never demanded that North Indians should learn Tamil or any other South Indian language so that they can be ‘protected’. #Stophindilmposition. If you want to teach 3 or 30 languages, just leave Tamil Nadu! “

Earlier on March 3, CM Stalin argued that if two languages have been properly taught to the students of North India, then what is the need to learn the third language for Southern students?
In a post on X, Stalin questioned critics as to why they do not first tell which third language is being taught in North India.
Stalin said on X, “Some patrons of unbalanced policies, mourning in deep concern, asks,” Why are you not giving the students of Tamil Nadu an opportunity to learn a third language? “Well, why don’t they first tell which third language is being taught in the answer?
Tamil Nadu Deputy Chief Minister Udayanidhi Stalin on Sunday gave a strong warning against the central government’s alleged efforts to impose Hindi on the state. He announced that Tamil Nadu would never accept the new education policy (NEP) and in any form to impose Hindi.
Stalin emphasized that the Chief Minister of the state MK Stalin has made it clear that Tamil Nadu rejects NEP, delimitation and imposing Hindi. He accused the central government of trying to “impose Hindi” through NEP.
Meanwhile, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan reiterated the importance of promoting Indian languages through the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
Speaking in Haridwar, Uttarakhand, Pradhan emphasized that all Indian languages have equal rights and should be taught equally. He clarified that NEP’s Tri-Language Policy does not impose Hindi as the only language, which is contrary to the concerns raised by some people in Tamil Nadu.
Pradhan said, “The National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 should be given importance to Indian languages … all Indian languages have equal rights, and all should be taught in the same way. It is the objective of NEP. Some people in Tamil Nadu are opposing it for political objectives. We have not said anywhere in NEP that only Hindi will be taught.”
The Tamil Nadu government has strongly opposed the implementation of the new education policy (NEP) of 2020, expressing concern over the “three-language formula” and alleged that the central government wants to ‘impose’ Hindi.
