Union Home Minister Amit Shah will go to Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh on Monday i.e. today to participate in Mahakumbh, one of the largest religious events in the world. Shah will also take a dip in the holy waters of ‘Triveni Sangam’ of rivers Ganga, Yamuna and Saraswati.
A crowd of lakhs of devotees has gathered in this Mahakumbh, which is being held after 144 years. Till now crores of devotees have taken bath. This Mahakumbh has been called the Mahakumbh of equality and harmony.
Recently, during a program in Gujarat, Amit Shah had said that such an opportunity of Mahakumbh has come once in 144 years. Everyone should go there. He said that I have been to Kumbh 9 times in my life, have also seen Ardh Kumbh. He said that Kumbh gives the message of harmony and unity. Shah had also urged the people of Gujarat, especially the young generation, to come to the Mahakumbh.
Shah wrote on ‘X’, “Mahakumbh, the great gathering of Sanatan Dharma giving the message of equality and harmony to the entire world, is not only a place of pilgrimage but is also a confluence of the country’s diversity, faith and knowledge tradition.” I am excited to take bath and worship in the Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj tomorrow and to meet the revered saints.
The Home Minister is expected to meet several saints including Shankaracharya of Puri and Shankaracharya of Dwarka. Mahakumbh has started from 13 January and will continue till 26 February.
Akhilesh Yadav took a dip of faith yesterday
Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav performed Ganga Sthan in Mahakumbh on Sunday. He had reached there with his son Arjun. He took 11 dives. After taking a dip of faith in Sangam, Akhilesh said that better arrangements can be made. Even in earlier governments, there were better arrangements for Kumbh. Mahakumbh should have a positive message. Harmony, harmony and tolerance should be maintained. This is our resolution.
He said that I have seen with my own eyes that elderly women and men are coming to the Mahakumbh on foot from far away places, but if the government is spending thousands of crores of rupees in the Mahakumbh, then there should have been some arrangement for the elderly so that they could Don’t have to walk much. He further said that BJP should fulfill its pledge of purity of Mother Ganga, even today many drains are falling into the river Ganga.
