Washington, January 21 (IANS). President Donald Trump on Monday defended his decision to withdraw the US from the Paris climate accord and blamed China. Earlier in his first term in 2017, he had blamed India for this.
“I am immediately withdrawing from the unjust, one-sided Paris climate agreement because the United States will not let its own industries suffer while China continues to pollute with impunity,” Donald Trump told supporters at the sporting arena.
People from all parts of the country came to the capital on this occasion. This special ceremony usually took place outside the US Capitol. But this time, the ceremony was moved inside the US Capitol. Therefore, those who wanted to watch the ceremony were taken to the Sporting Arena. There he watched the ceremony on a giant TV screen.
Trump continued, “You know China uses a lot of dirty energy, but they produce a lot of energy. When it goes into the air, it doesn’t stay in China, it goes with the air to other countries.” So, when we talk about clean air, we should also think about what will happen to the polluted air coming from other countries. Till then it is useless to talk about clean air.”
Thus America is once again out of the Paris Climate Agreement.
Trump took action even before the celebrations were over and signed an order canceling many of the Biden administration’s rules. All this happened in front of his supporters, who had been waiting for it all day at the Sporting Arena.
At the direction of the President, the announcer said, “The President has signed an order rescinding 78 orders, actions, and memoranda dating back to the Biden administration.” This signature was done on a special platform built in the stadium, with the seal of the President.
